What are the best smartphones to choose for their autonomy in 2020?
Autonomy is an essential criterion when buying a smartphone! For people who are afraid of running out of battery before the end of the day without having to rely on an external battery, here is a selection of the best smartphones, classified according to their autonomy. Asus, Honor, Samsung, or Xiaomi, all offer a really talented smartphone in this area, but we have selected the best so that you do not have to spend your evening near an outlet.
Who has never been stressed by the fear of having no battery left? Or lose contact with someone on an urgent call? Or even in a meeting? If external batteries can possibly alleviate the problem, it is far from being the most pleasant solution for the users. To do without it, it is better to choose a smartphone with a large autonomy.
To carry out its smartphone tests, the editorial staff of Frandroid uses the SmartViser application. It makes it possible to compare as finely as possible the end times of each of the terminals that pass through our hands. We used the results of these tests to produce this guide. The classification is therefore done in decreasing order of autonomy, here is the top 5.
The Redmi is the least expensive smartphone of the firm currently. Like the Motorola One Macro, its small data sheet allows it to go the distance. It runs our Aim test for 15.58 minutes thanks to its 5000 mAh battery. It’s the second best score, but almost an hour less than the champion. However, with use the deviation is felt less and it will hold its two days of everyday use without complaining.
Unfortunately, the rest of the product is not folichon. The Redmi 8 is otherwise a low-cost smartphone in every sense of the word. It is certainly very inexpensive, 149 euros only currently, but also makes many dead ends for a set just above the average in our columns: 6/10. However, its low price allows it to forgive certain offenses.

WHY CHOOSE XIAOMI REDMI 8?
Its low price
Its autonomy…
… But that's about all
A double blow for Motorola from this top 5 at the end of 2019. On the first step of the autonomy podium with the One Macro, the brand also took third place with the G8 Plus. The title of our test has the merit of summing up the product very well: "everything in the battery". With its 4000 mAh, it ran our Viser test for 15h10. Again, if you are not too greedy, you will find enough to last two days of use.

MOTOROLA ONE MACRO : MAXIMALE AUTONOMIE
With the arrival of brands like Xiaomi on the French market, Motorola is now finding it harder to make a dent. If the One Macro mainly highlights its “Macro” photo sensor - as evidenced by its name - the smartphone impresses on its autonomy: it lasted 4:55 during our Aim test. It is the most autonomous terminal we have tested this year. In practice, this means that it will last two days of use without blinking.
If it does not have the largest battery on the market with 4000 mAh where others rise to 4500 or even 5000 mAh, it reaches this score thanks to its relatively small (by current standards) of 6.2 inches displaying HD definition. In addition, its Mediatek processor is relatively shy which further reduces energy consumption. In other words, to obtain this autonomy Motorola had to make concessions.
However, the phone is not a complete disappointment since it received the nice score of 7/10 in our columns. Besides, it has the merit of being inexpensive with an entry ticket set at 229 euros. There is better in this price range, but there is nothing more autonomous. For our full review, see our review of the Motorola One Macro.
WHY CHOOSE MOTOROLA ONE MACRO?
- Simply the most autonomous smartphone of the moment
- Its interesting Macro photo sensor
- Its interface close to Android Stock

iPhone XR
iPhone XR
iPhone XR (stylized and marketed as iPhone Xr; Roman numeral "X" pronounced "ten")[12][13] is a smartphone designed and manufactured by Apple, Inc. It is the twelfth generation of the iPhone. It was announced by Phil Schiller on September 12, 2018, at the Steve Jobs Theater in the Apple Park campus, alongside the higher-priced iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. Pre-orders began on October 19, 2018, with an official release on October 26, 2018.[14]
The phone has a 6.1-inch "Liquid Retina" LCD display, which Apple claims is the "most advanced LCD in the industry."[15] It is the least expensive device in Apple's iPhone X line of devices, with a starting price of $749 in the United States, $1029 in Canada, £749 in the United Kingdom, €849 in the Eurozone countries, and 6499 yuan in China. It features the same processor as the XS and XS Max, the Apple A12 Bionic chip built with a 7 nanometer process, which Apple claims to be the "smartest and most powerful chip" ever put into a smartphone.[14]
It is available in six colors: black, white, blue, yellow, coral (a shade of pink and orange), and PRODUCT [RED]. The XR is available in three storage capacities: 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB. It is the second iPhone to be released in yellow and blue, the first being the iPhone 5C in 2013.[14] Internationally, the phone supports dual SIMs through a Nano-SIM and an eSIM. In mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau, dual Nano-SIM (in a single tray) is offered instead.[16][17]
Despite receiving some criticism for its lower display resolution in comparison to previous iPhone models at roughly the same price point, the XR received mostly positive reviews from critics and users after its release. The XR is Apple's best selling 2018 model. According to Apple, the XR battery lasts one-and-a-half hours longer than its direct predecessor, the iPhone 8.
